Station Quarter is situated at a highly accessible location. The development sits opposite Newport Train Station which has regular (every 30 minutes) services to London, Cardiff, Bristol, and Birmingham as well as direct services to Manchester.

In addition, the station provides local services to the local population of South Wales.

An estimated 2.29m passengers travelled through the station in 2013/2014 (ORR, 2014). The rail line is due to be electrified in 2015, further increasing the frequency of services to the station.

Newport’s main Bus Interchange is located directly adjacent to the site, on Queensway, with all major bus routes into Newport town centre stopping here.

The scheme has been designed to improve pedestrian flow from the station into the town centre by creating a pedestrian thoroughfare from Queensway to Cambrian road, over the new public plaza.
